As things get stranger by the day, maybe it’s time we start paying attention to what really matters.
Here are a few observations I believe many of us can relate to:
- Why is it that nearly every company has a “remedy” in place for problems with their product or service—but not a system that simply gets it right the first time?
- Why is the print so small on products designed for seniors? Honestly, how is anyone—let alone those of us with ageing eyes—supposed to read something printed black on black?
- Why aren’t assembly instructions written for the people actually doing the assembling? Not for someone overseas who’s done it ten thousand times and can talk faster than the speed of light.
- Just today, I received a message from Stamps.com saying my card was declined for a charge I didn’t authorize or even recognize. Why does resolving something so basic require hours on the phone, being shuffled from department to department? Change your password? Talk to Peter Postpone. Have a question about your account? Please hold for Nora Nun. Want to cancel? That’s Mick Mover’s department. You get the idea.
That’s all for now from The Foxlady.
I hope this gave you a chuckle—or at least something to think about. The world keeps getting weirder by the second, and sometimes, all we can do is laugh, question, and keep paying attention.

Dee Carey
